Clock Card

It was my birthday at the beginning of January and this card is made with some of the presents I was lucky enough to receive!!
I didn't set out to make this card, I was just playing around and this is the end result.

I started by die cutting the pocket watch, inking all parts, putting it together and adding glossy accents. I'm glad I did this first as it meant that the glossy accents were dry when I finally added the pocket watch to the card, usually I have to wait and keep poking whatever the glossy accents are on to see how dry it is.
The background paper has been scrunched up and inked over and left to dry,(another lucky accident.)
The embossing folder is larger than my others so I cut card to fit it, as you can see I used orange card which looked extremely bright on it's own so I inked it and inked it with several dark coloured distress inks.
It was at this stage that I thought it would make an okay card. So I matted the embossed card onto black, the inked paper onto grey and before I attached them to the card I wrapped ribbon and twine around.
I stamped the sentiment and heat embossed it in copper, to finish the card I added the pocket watch.
So I hope you like my playing around card!!

Valentine Card

This is the card I have made this year for my Hubby, I'm safe he doesn't look at my blog.
The red strip of paper on the left matches the all in 1 box so he can have that as his Valentines gift!!
I hand cut the three big hearts, inked around the lighter two with red ink and the red heart in brown ink.
The three mini hearts were punched out then also inked with brown ink.
I stamped the 'Love' sentiment in two colour browns using the rock and roll technique where you ink up the stamp first in the lighter colour ink then gently roll the stamp over a darker ink pad, I really like the effect it gives and each time is different. I stamped the brown heart the same way.
This card is a great way to use up any scraps of paper you have!!

All in 1 box

I make a lot of all in 1 boxes, usually to hold cards, so when I saw a picture of this unusual box I just knew I had to make it for Valentines.
I love the way this box divides in the middle to reveal the secret box inside.
I made the box from kraft card.
I matted the patterned paper onto black card, before I attached the top two pieces, I put the brads through. just to keep the inside of the box neat and tidy.
I then inked all the edges with black chalk ink, I wanted the edges black but not too heavy, does that make sense?
I filled my box with Lindor chocolate bears, which were reduced but in date, they cost 15p, I was well pleased. I also added some Hershey's Kisses as it is for Valentine but you can't see them in the picture.
To hold the box closed I wrapped black thread around the two brads (see top pic.)
I also added a tag stamped with dream and a stamped heart image.
I tried to find who originally made this box so to give them credit, Martha Stewart is who comes up the most, so I apologise if it was any one else.

Milk Cartons.

I try to make personal gifts for family members.
This is the gift I made for my Dad for Christmas, inside each carton is a different flavour mini jam.
I know the milk carton die has been about for a long time but I have only just bought mine.
To make the holder I measured the size of the four cartons, made up the box base a bit bigger then made the centre handle. I added the mini divider so each carton sits in it's own square.
The gold tag has the flavour of the jam on it.
There are instructions on how to make this holder without the guess work over at splitcoast stampers.
My Dad liked this part of his present, and he enjoyed the jams!!!

Prom Album

My beautiful god-daughter, Georgia, went to her school leavers prom in 2011, I finally made her prom book last October half term time.
I made the album A5 size so it can sit on her bookshelf in her bedroom.
I made nearly all the embellishments in the album.
I used silver throughout the album, this tied in with Georgia's dress.
I like the way the the film strip acts as the road

This is Georgia and her Mum, my oldest and dearest friend.
I used some of my favourite papers in this album.
 Everyone looked so elegant.
Sorry about this photo, I could not manage to take it without the glare.

Filofax Dividers

Here are some more filofax dividers!!!
I was asked to make these dividers last year, the person who ordered them wanted a deep antique rose colour to match her filofax.
I made five dividers and one front cover to match.
The swirls are pearlescent but this does not show up in the picture.
I added detail to each divider in a complimentary colour.
Thanks for looking.

Button Box

For Christmas I was lucky enough to receive this Baylis & Harding set which contained slippers and foot cream, my family were really pleased because my slippers were well past their sell by date!!!
I was really pleased because the packaging looked so pretty and I knew my buttons would fit in.
So I took the packaging apart very carefully. I then decided the top part did not need anything doing to it as it was already embossed with gold so I made my button box from this.
First I cut and scored the acetate cover from the original packaging to fit around the box I was going to use. As the acetate was so thick it folded and scored beautifully, I secured it with red tape.
Next I cut and folded wwhite card to make the insert to keep my bottons seperated. I made the center one first then made two compartments for the top and five for the bottom .
I chose to use white card to compliment the original packaging.
To finish the box I cut out some buttons from some free papers I got with a magazine and put glossy accents over them. I cut the letters out and put them to a bit of card that was just within arms reach and attached this to the acetate cover with glossy accents.
So now I have a stylish new button box and have recycled christmas packaging, I'm feeling pretty good!!!!
